A look at past work by Cary Bickler reveals a consistent approach rooted in restoring original intent, refining strategy, and letting the land do the talking.
Cary Bickler has built a reputation for shaping courses that feel intuitive to play, where strategy unfolds naturally and the land does most of the talking. His work leans into the existing terrain rather than overpowering it, pairing thoughtful design with a practical approach to sustainability that keeps courses both enjoyable and manageable over the long run.
“I studied a variety of ideas and options and chose my favorite design for the enhancements to the Soboba Springs County Club.”
Speaking about the changes at Soboba Springs Country Club, Cary Bickler noted that the new design elements bring a sharper edge to the closing stretch, particularly with two demanding par 3s from the back tees at the 14th (206 yards) and 16th (235 yards). Also in this mix, Cary designed one of the longest par 5s on the PGA Tour, the 15th (641 yards). He described holes 13 through 16 as a defining stretch of the round, a sequence that builds pressure and will likely separate players when it matters most in competition.
